Hawaii - Day 2

Today we headed out to the Dole Plantation. It is about an hour drive up the centre of the Island.

We went through the gardens and the pineapple maze.

We found tea leaves...

Japanese Koi...

Coffee plants...

Not sure what these are...

Flowers...

Water filled tropical plants... we found several snails living in the water in the centre of these.

And of course the kids had to pick them up...

But some were just on the ground...
Bananas...

The hibiscus walk...

A lizard...

Bead fruit...

Not sure what this one is...

We did see pineapple trees and so many different colours of flowers, but my battery was really low on the camera and could not take any more pics.

After the gardens and the maze we continued a little further north to the North Shore. The waves are supposed to be really high and frequented by local and professional surfers. Although we did find the north shore and watched a few surfers, we did not stay too long.

We did, however, find an Island beauty...

and were just in time to catch a couple of sea turtles... One on the beach and a few just floating near the shore.
